Floating on the interstellar train: the fateful entanglement between Na Ke Xia and the light cone

Sometimes, Na Ke Xia felt like a jellyfish floating in the deep sea, with no sense of direction or meaning, just drifting with the flow. This feeling often invaded him the moment he opened his eyes, as if everything around him did not belong to him. His world was a train that kept running, and the starry sky outside the train was so deep that it made people breathless – in the endless darkness, there were sporadic points of light flashing, and occasionally there were some vague outlines, as if they were lost memories.

There were not many people on the train, only him and some lonely passengers. Everyone was looking out the window, silent. Na Ke Xia realized that they were all in the same place, but had never met, and their existence seemed to be separated by some invisible force. He looked at his hand and suddenly doubted whether this hand was really his, or whether all the emotions and memories possessed by this hand were just another illusion of nothingness.

1. Light cone: the untouchable light

The train continued to move, and the stars melted into the darkness one by one. Na Kexia knew that he was chasing something – an untouchable cone of light. Whenever he was about to catch it, it would always disappear silently, as if it had never existed. He remembered that a long time ago, he had asked a stranger what the cone of light was. But the man just smiled and didn’t answer.

“The cone of light is just a symbol, representing a certain desire.” The man said.

Na Kexia thought that perhaps the cone of light was the meaning he had been looking for. It was not a specific substance, but a spiritual sustenance, a hope for the future. Whenever he felt desperate, he would imagine the cone of light, imagining that it was emitting a faint light, like a secret guide, silently telling him that the road ahead could still go on.

However, this feeling was as empty as a dream. When he reached out to grab it, the cone of light always disappeared without a trace.

2. The track of fate: an inescapable fate

The train was still running at high speed, and the surrounding scene became more and more blurred, even somewhat out of the normal laws of physics. Sometimes, Na Ke Xia would suddenly have an illusion, as if he was not on the train, but floating in some unreal place. It was like countless fragments in a dream, interweaving in front of his eyes.

“You will find it, the light cone.” A person next to the train suddenly spoke, his voice was so flat that it was almost ignored.

Na Ke Xia looked at the person he was talking to, his eyes were a little dazed. This was a completely unfamiliar face, and he didn’t know why he suddenly had this feeling. It was as if this person had never appeared here, but his existence seemed to be destined long ago.

“What are you talking about?” Na Ke Xia finally asked.

“You know, the track of fate. You have been chasing, chasing that light cone.” The man squinted his eyes and looked at the endless starry sky outside.

“But the light cone has never appeared.” Na Ke Xia whispered.

“It is always there, but you have never seen it.” The man smiled, without a trace of fluctuation on his face.

An inexplicable sense of loss suddenly arose in Na Ke Xia’s heart, as if everything he was chasing was just an empty illusion. In front of him was an endless starry sky, and behind him was an endless train track. Everything became blurred, as if it had no meaning.

3. Lonely pursuit: moving forward in the unknown

The train continued to run, and the wind whistled in his ears. That moment Xia began to be unable to understand himself. He once thought that he was just pursuing the light cone, but now he found that this pursuit had long become a habit, an existence that could not be escaped. It was no longer a certain purpose, but a process. Just like the track of the train, there was no end.

He recalled his former self, the young man who was once full of hope and dreams. At that time, he believed that as long as he worked hard, he could reach his destination, grasp the light cone, and find the meaning of life. However, after so many years of pursuit, he gradually became confused and no longer sure what he was pursuing.

Everyone is pursuing, but how many people know that the real meaning of pursuit is not to arrive, but to walk on the road.

That moment Xia closed his eyes and let the rhythm of the train take him further. Perhaps, the cone of light will never appear in front of him, and perhaps he will never understand what he is pursuing. But all this seems unimportant. He began to understand that the trajectory of fate will not change because of his choice. Whether he wants to or not, he can only move forward.

4. The meaning of existence: seeing yourself on the interstellar train

Suddenly, the lights of the train dimmed, and the starry sky outside was covered by a thin layer of clouds and mist, and all the light spots became blurred. That Kexia looked out the window and no longer had any expectations in his heart. Perhaps, life is like this, the light you pursue is always just an image, which can neither be seen nor touched. All the goals people pursue will eventually turn into nothingness and disappear in the darkness.

“You can never escape fate.” He heard a voice ringing in his ears, as if it was a voice on the train. That Kexia did not respond, he just looked at the blurred stars, his heart was not fluctuating, and he even felt a little calm.

The trajectory of fate, the pursuit of the cone of light, everything, finally came down to one question-why do we live?

He had no answer. However, he was still on the train, still moving forward, like everyone else, along this track that could not be turned back.

And the light cone always disappeared in the darkness ahead.
